Responsibilities
- Sets up, operates, fills, empties, and identifies pre-dried hoppers, grinders, and similar equipment.
- Affirms hoppers are refilled with appropriate material using vacuum feeders or hand fill methods to ensure hoppers don't run empty.
- Affords assistance in operating presses including relief, setup, color/material changes, and mold changes as needed and directed.
- Maintains general housekeeping.
- Gauges; trains; and affords assistance to other utilities including relief for breaks.
- Ensures product is placed in designated Work In Progress (WIP) stores.
- Ensures cartons are labeled per labeling procedures.
- Maintains routes according to System Logistics Management System (SLMS) system.
- Ensures every tote is sampled for design intent and customer specifications prior to moving to WIP line per the Operations Information System (OIS).
- Understands WIP trigger labels, how to complete and sequence Production Instruction Kanbans, and to set up Bead Board.
- Maintains accurate productivity and defect information.
- Performs other work as assigned by supervisor.
Requirements
- Physically capable of walking for the entire work shift.
- Able to lift up to 40 pounds.
- Repeatedly bends and lifts during the shift.
- Able to wear steel-toe footwear.
- Adequate visual acuity to qualify for a forklift license.
- Able to operate a pallet jack for product movement.
- Able to climb ladders/stairs for material changes.
- Able to stand for entire shift.
