Mold Technician 3rd Shift

We are looking for a Mold Technician to join our team on 3rd shift. This role requires effective communication with production teams and support groups, accurate documentation of work performed, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of quality and safety.

About the role

Hourly pay: $19.00 + differentiation pay

Schedule:

  • Monday - Thursday: 11:00 p.m. - 6:00 a.m.
  • Friday - Saturday: 11:00 p.m. - 8:30 a.m.

Responsibilities

  • Perform mold change activities to ensure proper equipment changeovers.
  • Adjust machine settings to complete tasks accurately, according to specifications and in a timely fashion.
  • Perform operational procedures to ensure the quality of the product produced.
  • Identify the proper tooling required for pending production.
  • Inspect the condition of molds and component parts for damage and wear.
  • Inspect machines, conveyors, and tools in the department and notify the Lead when maintenance repair forms are needed or replacement tools are required.
  • Assist other maintenance employees with repairs, preventive maintenance (PM), installation, commissioning, and testing of equipment.
  • Analyze and resolve all issues related to the equipment.
  • Keep all molds/tools in good and safe condition and ensure they are returned to their appropriate location.
  • Ensure molds are stored in the designated area after the job is completed.
  • Recommend, plan, repair, modify, and fabricate any necessary elements to improve production equipment, utilities, efficiency, and reliability.
  • Assist in maintaining up-to-date mold locations, organized mold storage, and clean mold locations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience is required.
  • Associate degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience preferred.
  • Prior experience operating manufacturing and process control equipment required.
  • Thermoforming, Injection Mold, or related machine operator experience preferred.
  • Powered Industrial Truck Certifications (e.g., Forklift, Reach Truck, Cherry Picker) preferred.

Supervisor Responsibilities

Individual Contributor: working team member with no oversight of others and no management responsibilities.

Physical Requirements

  • This position is subject to Medium Work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
  • Physical Activities: climbing, balancing, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, crawling, and repetitive motions.
  • Visual Acuity: The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform activities such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; expansive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines (including inspection); using measurement devices; and/or assembly or fabrication of parts at distances close to the eyes.
  • Working Conditions: The worker is subject to inside and outside environmental conditions, including heat, noise, vibration, and hazards from a production-based environment.
