Mold Repair Specialist

About the role

The mold repair specialist C4 operates tool room equipment, maintains injection molds, troubleshoots and repairs molds, participates in process improvement teams, and reports concerns impacting safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Operates tool room equipment according to procedure
  • Maintains injection molds in production ready and safe condition
  • Troubleshoots and repairs injection molds as needed
  • Participates in cross-functional process improvement teams
  • Communicates key items within the plant environment on safety, quality, maintenance, production, and continuous improvement
  • Follows work instructions and writes, revises, and trains others on those instructions
  • Performs root cause analysis to determine immediate or personnel action
  • Performs preventative maintenance tasks
  • Maintains 5S environment in work area
  • Administers tooling preventative maintenance program
  • Participates in tooling optimization and cost control/reduction activities
  • Complies with all safety, quality, customer, ISO, SQF, and regulatory requirements

Qualifications

  • High school diploma/GED
  • Journeyman's card or relevant combination of education and experience
  • Ability to operate a vertical mill, lathe, and surface grinder
  • Ability to use micrometers and other measuring equipment
  • Ability to assemble/disassemble injection molds
  • Ability to repair hot runner systems
  • Organization and detail-oriented skills
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a high-paced and multi-task environment
  • Positive team environment
  • Self-motivation and ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Physical mobility including sitting, bending, twisting, standing, and lifting up to 35 lbs
  • English language proficiency
  • Computer experience preferred
