About the role
This position involves restoring and maintaining proper mold geometry to ensure accurate part specifications. Responsibilities include applying the mold release interface, which may involve the use of liquid chemicals and nitrile gloves, and working with rubbing/polishing compounds using a pneumatic polisher. The molds used are typically a gel-coat finish.
Responsibilities
- Apply mold release interface using liquid chemicals (nitrile gloves provided)
- Use pneumatic polisher to work with rubbing/polishing compounds
- Work with chemical-based materials
- Communicate with production crew to identify mold issues and develop maintenance schedules
- Multi-task and work independently with minimal supervision
- Patch, sand, and spray molds as needed
Requirements
- Prior or current experience working with gel coats is preferred, but training will be provided to qualified candidates
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced, multi-task environment
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Attention to detail and ability to multi-task
- Ability to work with various hand and pneumatic tools
- Experience in composites or similar industries is a plus, but not required
- Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs and stand for prolonged periods
- Must be able to reach, bend, and lift as needed
- Must be able to work in a team environment and independently
- Must have good problem-solving abilities and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced, multi-task production environment
- Must be able to remain calm under pressure and deal with issues logically and within company guidelines
- Available for overtime hours as needed
