Mold Machine Operator B (Wax Center)

About the Role

Operate a variety of molding machines to produce moderately complex wax pattern and gating components of the highest quality. Inspect, trim, and clean wax parts as required.

Responsibilities

• Tooling Preparation
  • Assemble, disassemble, prepare, and position tooling dies for operation; change die inserts as required.
  • Add chills and soluble per tech cards.
  • Remove and/or clean tooling after operation.
• Mold Machine Operation
  • Set up, monitor, and control mold machine functions.
  • Keep dies clean during molding operations.
  • Remove wax parts from die, inspect for defects, and trim.
  • Clean wax parts as required.
  • Complete logs and records; document any modifications to process.
  • Meet all production and quality standards.
• Safety
  • Adhere to plant and department safety rules.
  • Safely operate all equipment and tools.
  • Identify and report safety problems.
• Additional Duties
  • Train less skilled operators as assigned.
  • Perform other tasks as directed.
  • May be required to handle hazardous waste.

Requirements

• Skill in wax molding operations, demonstrated by three to six months of competent performance in wax molding utility, leach tank, or core/gate cleaner positions (or equivalent combination of training and work experience).
• Ability to read, interpret, and follow specifications on Technique Cards, Process Control Procedures, and other special instructions.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division).
• Ability to work alone with limited supervision.
• Written language skills required.
• Physical ability to perform the essential job functions.

Training

Training is provided on the job. May be required to complete Hazardous Waste Management Training.
