Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for Mohs surgery by taking medical histories, recording vital signs, and addressing patient concerns
- Assist surgeons by preparing and handling surgical instruments and equipment during procedures
- Ensure the surgical environment is maintained in compliance with safety and infection control standards
- Provide post-operative instructions and support to patients to promote optimal recovery
- Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of patient interactions and procedures in electronic health records (EHR)
- Cook up with administrative staff to schedule appointments and follow-up visits efficiently
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; Medical Assistant certification or surgical technician training preferred
- Experience working in dermatology is required
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and surgical aseptic techniques
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients and clinical staff
- Ability to multitask and work well under pressure in a fast-paced clinical environment
- Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) and healthcare software
- Commitment to patient confidentiality and adherence to HIPAA regulations and clinical protocols
