MODERATE / SEVERE SPECIAL EDUCATION TEACHER
About the role
The Special Education Teacher at Community Elementary School is responsible for curriculum planning and implementation of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). They collaborate and coordinate with administrators, educators, and instructional assistants. The teacher also co-teaches or provides services alongside the school counselor, therapists, and other educators. They serve as a liaison with families and service providers and provide educational support to students in collaboration with their peers.

Requirements
- A Massachusetts DESE state certification – Special Education Teacher
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Effective problem-solving skills
- Knowledgeable and proficient with Federal/State laws and regulations
- Proficient in the IEP Team meeting process
Qualifications
- Current Massachusetts License Required

- Knowledge of special education principles and practices
- Ability to work effectively with diverse student populations
- Strong organizational and time management skills
Benefits
Salary and benefits are as per the NAFT Teachers Local 4292 Collective Bargaining Agreement.
Pay
Salary is determined based on qualifications and experience, as per the collective bargaining agreement.
Schedule
The position is full-time for the 2026-2027 school year.
