About the role

The Sr Principal Modeling and Simulation Systems Engineer will support a growing portfolio of programs and IRADs focusing on missile defense, space, and intelligence. They will develop and analyze models and simulations using the Advanced Framework for Simulation, Integration, and Modeling (AFSIM) framework.

Responsibilities

  • Support the development and analysis of models and simulations utilizing the AFSIM framework
  • Interpret complex data sets using Python, MATLAB, SQL, or related technologies
  • Communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical customers
  • Mentor and develop junior-level engineers
  • Work autonomously and collaboratively in a team setting
  • Support the development of systems engineering models utilizing SysML and Cameo
  • Utilize agile development methodologies
  • Engage in Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)

Requirements

  • Current, active in-scope DoD-issued Top Secret security clearance
  • Experience using MS&A to inform system development
  • Experience using Python, MATLAB, SQL, or related technologies
  • Experience with Ansys ModelCenter and SIMDIS
  • Experience with SysML and Cameo
  • Experience with agile development methodologies
  • Experience with MBSE
  • Master’s degree in Systems Engineering preferred
  • INCOSE ASEP (or above) certification or Object Modeling Group (OMG) Certified Systems Modeling Professional (OCSMP) Model Builder Fundamental Certification preferred

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM discipline from an accredited university and 5 years of related work experience, or a Master's Degree in STEM and 3 years of related work experience, or 1 year of related work experience with a PhD in STEM for Principal Modeling and Simulation Systems Engineer – Level 3
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM discipline from an accredited university and 8 years of related work experience, or a Master's Degree in STEM and 6 years of related work experience, or 4 years of related work experience with a PhD in STEM for Sr. Principal Modeling and Simulation Systems Engineer – Level 4

Benefits

Northrop Grumman offers a competitive compensation package including:

  • Base Salary Range: $103,600.00 - $155,400.00 for the Primary Level
  • Base Salary Range: $129,300.00 - $193,900.00 for the Secondary Level

Pay

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Schedule

This position requires domestic travel up to 10% of the time, dependent on program needs.
