About the role
The Georgia Tech Research Institute (GTRI) is seeking a Modeling and Simulation Engineer for the Methods and Analysis Development Branch (MAD) within the Systems Engineering Research Division in the Electronic Systems Laboratory (ELSYS).
Responsibilities
- Develop critical M&S inputs, including framework definition, requirements analysis, synthesis, systems analysis and implementation
- Conduct product or system design analysis translating requirements into valid models and experimental designs for systems of moderate complexity
- Contribute to technical reports and diagrams detailing product or system attributes
- Analyze product or system functionality as defined by requirements
- Implement approaches that foster reusability of existing M&S expressions
- Works to understand new domains of interest to customers, in order to provide or use decision supporting models, simulations, and/or analyses
- Create and analyze aerospace vehicle simulations, 6DOF models, or related physical models and simulations
- Develop tailored visualizations and/or user interfaces to supporting sponsor or SME decision making activities
- Gains and maintains proficiency in various Modeling and Simulation, Decision Support, and/or related fields of study in the domain of Operations Research and Systems Analysis
- Collaborate, interface, and/or work with other researchers and multidisciplinary engineering teams on the above tasks
- Design, implement, and execute automated ss, both unit and integration ss, to verify framework functionality
- Led the development of new technical principles, theories, and concepts
Requirements
- Experience with Python, MatLab, AFSIM and/or other Modeling & Simulation platforms
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Able to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret Security Clearance
Preferred Qualifications
- Active TS/SCI Clearance
- Experience collaborating, organizing, teaming and communicating with a diverse team of government sponsors, researchers, and other stakeholders to facilitate project performance
- Experience developing and delivering technical briefings
- Experience creating and analyze aerospace vehicle simulations, 6DOF models, or related physical models and simulations
Education and Length of Experience
- 3 years of related experience with a Masters’ degree in Aerospace Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Data Science/Analytics, Physics, Mathematics, or related discipline
- 0 years of related experience with a Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Data Science/Analytics, Physics, Mathematics, or related discipline
