About the role
The Georgia Tech Research Institute (GTRI) is seeking a Model-Based Systems Engineer (MBSE) to join the Sensor and Electromagnetic Application Laboratory (SEAL) in Smyrna, Georgia. The ideal candidate will contribute to the development and execution of novel system model-based approaches, applying MBSE tools to support the Systems Engineering Lifecycle.
Responsibilities
- Lead task teams in authoring UAF models capturing stakeholder needs and resulting enterprise architectures, SysML models capturing system requirements and design, and data models capturing system data requirements and design
- Direct sponsor engagement and facilitate product or system requirements gathering and analysis
- Verify systems engineering product life-cycle including definition, requirements analysis, synthesis, systems analysis and implementation
- Develop technical reports and diagrams detailing product or system attributes in a SysML model
- Implement approaches that foster reusability of existing model expressions
- Define/refine internal and external interfaces
- Analyze product or system functionality as defined by requirements
- Develop skills and training as part of the greater GTRI workforce using professional development funding
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline
- Familiarity with the various phases of the Systems Engineering lifecycle
- Familiarity with Model-Based Systems Engineering with the OMG Systems Modeling Language (SysML)
- Familiarity with the Unified Architecture Framework (UAF)
- Experience with Enterprise Architecture Tools (commercial or open-source)
Preferred Qualifications
- Active TS/SCI Clearance
- Experience with the DoD Acquisition Process
- Experience with DoD Intelligence communities
- Experience and training directly related to implementing Model-Based Systems Engineering solutions on complex, Department of Defense (DoD) programs
- Experience with requirements development and management
- Experience with interface definition and management
- Experience with Cameo Systems Modeler
- Experience with the development of an integrated system model (UML, SysML and UPDM2/UAF)
- Familiarity with SysML 2.0
- Leadership, supervisory, or managerial experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Additional Responsibilities

Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
- Minimum 3 years of related experience with a Master’s degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
- Minimum 0 years of related experience with a Ph.D. in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
