About the role

Avis Budget Group is immediately hiring for a technician position supporting Budget Truck operations. The role involves performing standard and complex mechanical repairs on a fleet of cargo vans and box trucks, ensuring they are safe, reliable, and available.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance, oil and fluid services, tire repairs, brake and suspension work, electrical diagnostics, and warranty-related repairs
  • Diagnose and resolve issues on-site, driving Budget Trucks as needed to get customers back on the road quickly
  • Work on newer vehicles across multiple manufacturers, applying expertise in diesel and medium-duty repairs

Requirements

  • Valid Class A, B, or C CDL license
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in mechanical repairs and diagnostics on medium-duty or heavy-duty equipment
  • At least 1 ASE certification, with potential to earn 2 additional certifications within the first year
  • Working knowledge across ASE areas including Engine Repair, Drivetrain/Axles, Suspension/Steering, Brakes, Electrical, Heating/Air Conditioning, Engine Performance, and Light Vehicle/Diesel
  • Ability to obtain DOT medical clearance
  • Comfortable working outdoors and in a mechanical shop environment
  • Must have a complete set of tools for automotive and diesel repair
  • Basic computer skills, including typing and data entry
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, stand, bend, reach, walk, sit, and kneel frequently
  • Must be at least 21 years old and legally authorized to work in the US
  • This position requires regular, on-site presence and cannot be performed remotely
  • Previous OEM experience is preferred

Skills

Pay

$24.00/hour. Factors affecting starting pay may include geography/market, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications.
