Mobile Diesel Mechanic - Budget Truck - FT

About the role

Avis Budget Group is seeking a skilled technician to support Budget Truck operations. The ideal candidate should enjoy working on trucks, solve problems independently, and keep vehicles operational.

Responsibilities

• Perform standard and complex mechanical repairs on a fleet of cargo vans and box trucks
• Apply skills in preventive maintenance, oil and fluid services, tire repairs, brake and suspension work, electrical diagnostics, and warranty-related repairs
• Drive Budget Trucks on public roads as needed for repair or transport
• Work on newer vehicles across multiple manufacturers, reducing downtime and improving reliability
• Diagnose and resolve issues directly for customer businesses

Requirements

• Valid Driver’s License Class A, B, or C (CDL may be required)
• Minimum of 2 years of experience performing mechanical repairs and diagnostics on medium-duty or heavy-duty equipment
• At least 1 ASE certification, with the ability to obtain 2 additional certifications within the first year
• Working knowledge across ASE areas including Engine Repair, Drivetrain/Axles, Suspension/Steering, Brakes, Electrical, Heating/Air Conditioning, Engine Performance, and Light Vehicle/Diesel
• Ability to obtain DOT medical clearance
• Comfortable working outdoors and in a mechanical shop environment with moderate noise levels
• Basic computer skills, including typing and data entry
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds, stand, bend, reach, walk, sit, and kneel frequently
• Must be at least 21 years old and legally authorized to work in the United States
