About the role
Avis Budget Group is seeking a skilled technician to support Budget Truck operations. The ideal candidate will enjoy working on a diverse fleet of newer cargo vans and box trucks, ensuring they are safe, reliable, and available.
Responsibilities
- Perform standard and complex mechanical repairs on a fleet of cargo vans and box trucks with minimal technical supervision.
- Apply skills in preventive maintenance, oil and fluid services, tire repairs, brake and suspension work, electrical diagnostics, and warranty-related repairs.
- Drive Budget Trucks on public roads as needed to diagnose and resolve issues, ensuring customers can return to operation quickly.
- Work on newer vehicles across multiple manufacturers, focusing on diesel and medium-duty repairs to reduce downtime and improve reliability.
Requirements
- Valid Driver's License Class A, B, or C (CDL may be required depending on location).
- Minimum of 2 years of experience performing mechanical repairs and diagnostics on medium-duty or heavy-duty equipment.
- At least 1 ASE certification, with the ability to obtain 2 additional ASE certifications within the first year.
- Working knowledge across ASE areas including, but not limited to: Engine Repair, Drivetrain/Axles, Suspension/Steering, Brakes, Electrical, Heating/Air Conditioning, Engine Performance, and Light Vehicle/Diesel.
- Ability to obtain DOT medical clearance.
- Comfortable working outdoors and in a mechanical shop environment with moderate noise levels.
- Basic computer skills, including typing and data entry.
- Able to lift up to 50 pounds, stand, bend, reach, walk, sit, and kneel frequently.
- Able to enter, exit, and drive vehicles.
- Must be at least 21 years old and legally authorized to work in the United States.
Qualifications
Previous OEM experience is preferred and considered a strong advantage.

Pay
$26.00/hour. Factors which may affect starting pay may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
