About the role

Cox Fleet is seeking a Mobile Trailer Technician II to support our growing fleet maintenance services. This is a dedicated on-site position focusing on preventive maintenance, DOT inspections, and light repairs.

Responsibilities

• Perform certified DOT inspections and Preventative Maintenance inspections on Freightliner and Mack Trucks, trailers, and refrigeration equipment.
• Diagnose and repair/replace compressors, coils, electrical components, and other trailer equipment.
• Manage parts inventory and equipment on company-issued service truck.
• Conduct safety checks and pre-/post-trip inspections of company-issued service vehicle.
• Document work performed using company issued iOS device and proprietary TRAIT application.
• Communicate with management and support team regarding repair estimates and RO findings.
• Work independently and manage daily schedule to meet standard repair times.
• Obtain parts from approved vendors and comply with safety protocols.
• Assist Mobile Trailer Technician I with diagnostics and perform minor adjustments and repairs on trailer equipment.

Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED with 3 years' experience in a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• At least 3 years of experience with refrigerated equipment.
• Supply a set of hand tools necessary for job duties.
• Obtain ASE T8 (PMI) certification within 18 months.
• Obtain 608/609 certification within 18 months.
• Valid driver's license with more than 4 months remaining on DOT medical card.

Skills & Abilities

• Knowledge of trailer parts and systems, including repair and maintenance.
• Ability to lift, bend, climb, stand, and walk for long periods.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Logical reasoning and problem-solving skills.

Pay

USD 24.09 - 36.11 per hour. Additional compensation may include commission and/or an incentive program.

Schedule
