Mobile Technician II
Job Summary
Under close supervision, this position is responsible for performing basic services of our tractors, trailers, chassis, containers, and power equipment at a customer site or rail yard using a mobile service truck. This position has the possibility to work outdoors, in the elements, or across multiple shifts including nights and/or weekends in addition to overtime; it requires full-time attendance.
Job Description
Properly document damage to company equipment to allow subrogation of repair costs
Perform CSA inspections with guidance of a certified technician as needed
Operate assigned service truck in a professional manner and according to company requirements; keep unit clean and well stocked
Perform minor repairs on chassis, frames, brackets, etc.
With guidance, perform basic preventive maintenance tasks to include, but not limited to, tire replacements/flat repairs, brake adjustments/services/replacements, electrical diagnostics, basic structural repairs on trailer chassis, sub-frames, etc.
Accurately complete work orders and other written materials according to established procedures
Follow all safety requirements while at a customer or rail yard
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications: 18 years of age for equipment up to 10,000lbs or 21 years of age for equipment over 10,000 lbs AND Demonstration of the following skills and abilities through education, certifications, military, or other experiences
Possess a clean motor vehicle record per J.B. Hunt guidelines
Able to supply your own basic tools or purchase through our toolbox purchase program
Willingness to work outdoors in the elements
Able to work across multiple shifts, including nights and/or weekends, if needed
Preferred Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED equivalent with up to 1 year of experience in semi-tractor or semi-trailer maintenance and repair, or equivalent combination of education and experience, or military equivalent
Forklift certification and experience
Ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas through various mediums
Ability to manage multiple priorities
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Proficient computer skills and/or comfortable working with a computer, including Microsoft Office suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
Ability to use time and resources efficiently and effectively
Ability to fulfill physical requirements (lift/move appliance up to 50 pounds)
Ability to wear appropriate work attire (protective gear/PPE)

Compensation factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include skills, education, experience, geography, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
