Key Responsibilities
- Travel to customer sites using a company-provided service vehicle.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain diesel-powered pump equipment and related mechanical systems.
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance (PM) services to maximize equipment reliability.
- Respond promptly to emergency service calls and minimize equipment downtime.
- Inspect equipment and identify potential issues before failures occur.
- Complete service reports, work orders, and required documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
- Maintain inventory of service parts, tools, and supplies in the company vehicle.
- Communicate professionally with customers regarding equipment condition, repair recommendations, and maintenance needs.
- Follow all company safety procedures and maintain a safe work environment.
- Keep the company service vehicle clean, organized, and properly maintained.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of diesel technician, heavy equipment, industrial equipment, or automotive technician experience required.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with proven diagnostic and troubleshooting abilities.
- Experience working on diesel engines, hydraulic systems, pumps, or industrial equipment is highly preferred.
- Automotive technicians with strong diagnostic experience are encouraged to apply.
- Ability to work independently in the field without direct supervision.
- Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to read service manuals, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Basic computer or tablet skills for completing service documentation.
Requirements
- Valid driver's license with a clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
- Must meet and maintain company driving requirements to operate a company service vehicle.
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Willingness to travel locally throughout the assigned service area.
- Availability for occasional overtime and emergency after-hours service calls as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience servicing industrial pumps or pump systems.
- Diesel engine certifications (ASE, OEM, or equivalent).
- Hydraulic and electrical diagnostic experience.
- CDL is a plus but not required.
