Mobile Shower Intern

Responsibilities

• Prepare site by unlocking and hooking up shower external water lines, electrical power sources, and checking propane tanks lines.
• Keep the shower vehicle stocked with towels and wash cloths.
• Maintain the shower supply trailer, restocking items like shorts, t-shirts, socks, underwear, and toiletries as needed.
• Manage participants, enforcing time limits to ensure everyone receives a turn.
• Provide each participant with fresh towels/washcloths from the shower trailer.
• Work with partner organizations offering information on housing, medical care, and food resources.
• Thoroughly spray, scrub, disinfect, and sanitize individual shower stalls and the shower room between each user.
• Perform weekly deep sanitation in each shower room.
• Unhook shower external water lines and electrical power sources.
• Unhook electrical power source lines for the shower supply trailer.
• Put folding stairs to both units in the storage mode, lock all doors, and dispose of all trash at the SCHC dumpster.

Requirements

Successful candidate must be able to perform the primary functions of the position, including but not limited to:

• Ability to prepare and maintain shower facilities.
• Knowledge of basic hygiene practices and disinfection methods.
• Ability to manage and enforce time limits for participants.
• Basic knowledge of first aid and emergency procedures.
• Ability to communicate effectively with participants and partner organizations.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate should have:

• Experience working with mobile shower units or similar facilities.
• Strong organizational skills to manage supplies and participants.
• Good interpersonal skills to interact with participants and partner organizations.
• Basic knowledge of cleaning and disinfection processes.

• Attention to detail for maintaining cleanliness and hygiene.
• Ability to work independently and under pressure.
• Basic computer skills for managing inventory and scheduling.

Pay
