Mobile Phlebotomist - Fort Wayne, IN (Temporary, Full-Time)

About the role

This is a temporary, full-time position for nurses, phlebotomists, or medical assistants. As a Sprinter, you'll provide a diverse array of preventative care and diagnostic services to patients in the comfort of their homes. Trainings will be offered to acquaint you with services such as capturing diabetic retina images, performing ECGs, recording using digital stethoscopes, and more.

A day in the life of a Sprinter includes:

• Ensuring you have all proper supplies and PPE for the day’s patients
• Using modern technology to access your schedule and navigate to patient homes
• Building warm, welcoming connections with a diverse range of patients
• Performing patient-centric, diagnostic, and low-acuity care, including phlebotomy, specimen collection, diabetic foot screenings, retina exams, ECGs, and more
• Properly labeling and coordinating sample drop-off to labs or shipment facilities

Responsibilities

• Use mobile devices for charting and HIPAA-secure messaging apps for care coordination
• Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
• Work independently or as part of a team with minimal supervision
• Demonstrate an interest in learning and advancing your skill set
• Navigate and physically access patient homes, including climbing stairs and carrying up to 20 pounds

Requirements

• State-required licensure and/or proof of training
• National certification for applicants in states without state-level licensure requirements
• Basic Life Support certification
• Proof of completion of course/program or certification based on licensure level
• Valid Driver’s License and reliable transportation (you will use your own vehicle)
• Current vehicle insurance
• Pass national background check and DMV check
• Proof of vaccination or immunity for:
  • Measles/Mumps/Rubella (MMR)
  • Hepatitis B series
  • Varicella
  • TB test (within the past year)
  • Influenza (annual or signed exemption)
  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Pertussis (TDaP - within past 10 years)
• Previous experience in venipuncture
