About the role

The Campaign Against Hunger (TCAH) seeks a Mobile Pantry Volunteer to assist with food distribution from one of our trucks at various locations in Far Rockaway on weekdays. TCAH is a beacon of hope in the Bedford-Stuyvesant community, offering a variety of vital services including a supermarket-style food pantry that empowers families.

Responsibilities

• Assist staff with food distribution from a mobile pantry truck
• Visit different locations in Far Rockaway on weekdays
• Help distribute food to clients who visit the pantry once per month
• Ensure food is distributed efficiently and according to client needs

Requirements

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Positive attitude and willingness to help others
• Good communication skills
• Flexibility to work variable hours

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Experience working with the public or in a customer service role is a plus
