Mobile Mechanic/ Roadside Service Tech

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Mobile Mechanic / Roadside Service Technician to join our team in Jacksonville, FL. This role involves traveling to customer locations to diagnose, maintain, and repair vehicles on-site. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, dependable, customer-focused, and capable of working independently while delivering high-quality automotive service.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and drivability issues on a variety of vehicles.
• Perform routine maintenance including:
  • Oil changes
  • Brake repairs
  • Battery replacement
  • Starter and alternator replacement
  • Tire services
  • Fluid checks and replacements
• Respond promptly to roadside assistance and mobile service calls.
• Utilize diagnostic equipment to identify vehicle issues accurately.
• Explain repair recommendations and findings to customers in a professional manner.
• Maintain accurate service records and repair documentation.
• Ensure company vehicle and equipment remain clean, organized, and operational.
• Follow all safety procedures and company standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of professional automotive repair experience (4+ years preferred).
• ASE Certification is a plus but not required.
• Strong knowledge of gasoline vehicle systems including:
  • Engine
  • Brakes
  • Suspension
  • Steering
  • Electrical systems
  • Starting and charging systems
• Ability to diagnose complex mechanical and electrical problems independently.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Strong customer service and communication abilities.
• Ability to work independently and efficiently manage daily service calls.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
