Mobile Master Licensed Clinician

Join the Genesee Mobile Crisis Services (GMCS) team and provide 24/7 mobile crisis support in Genesee County. This role offers a structured yet flexible schedule, reduced caseload, and a healthy work-life balance.

About the role

The Crisis Interventionist III (CI III) is an integral member of the crisis response team, delivering on-site support to individuals in mental health crises. You’ll conduct assessments, de-escalate situations, and provide trauma-informed interventions while collaborating with law enforcement, emergency services, and mental health professionals.

Responsibilities

• Assess risks and safety concerns for individuals/families in crisis, including self-harm or harm to others.
• Complete mobile assessments of crisis situations and identify needs.
• Provide active, solution-focused crisis intervention for adults and children.
• Collaborate with individuals/families to develop safety plans and coping strategies.
• Arrange or provide transportation to safe locations as needed.
• Assist individuals who are homeless or unsafe in their home environment.
• Coordinate with local agencies, hospitals, and law enforcement for referrals and follow-up care.
• Transport individuals to appropriate facilities for further evaluation when necessary.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in a Human Service field.
• Professional licensure in the State of Michigan (e.g., LLMSW, LLPC, TLLP). Permanent license (LMSW, LPC, LLP) required within 5 years for limited/temporary licenses.
• Certification or willingness to obtain (within 30 days of hire) one of the following:
  • CAADC (Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor)
  • CADC (Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor)
  • Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) as defined by Michigan
  • Child Mental Health Professional (CMHP) and/or Qualified Intellectual Disabilities Professional (QIDP)
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Minimum of one year of experience diagnosing and treating mental health, substance use, and/or developmental disabilities.
• Experience in crisis intervention or emergency mental health services.
• Experience working with diverse age groups and disabilities, including children.
• Knowledge of co-occurring mental illness and substance use disorders.
• Strong crisis assessment and intervention techniques.

Pay

Base pay: Limited License: $31–$33/hour; Full License: $34–$36/hour, plus shift differential.

Schedule

Full-time, 40 hours per week: Sunday–Wednesday, 1:00 PM–11:00 PM.
