Mobile Fleet Technician

About the role

Fleet Mobile Maintenance is a rapidly expanding fleet maintenance network based in the Southeast corridor of Michigan. We serve multiple markets including Detroit, Ann Arbor, Battle Creek, Lansing, and Flint, as well as Indianapolis, Cleveland, Louisville, and Nashville. We are dedicated to providing top-notch service and maintaining compliance with DOT standards.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair commercial tractors and trailers.
• Write detailed work orders and handle mobile road calls and yard work.
• Provide quality customer service, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair semi-truck and trailer bodies, systems, and components.
• Perform preventative maintenance measures on fleet semi-trucks and trailers.
• Inspect, service, and replace tractor and trailer parts, including tires.
• Check and repair the brake, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
• Test all systems and equipment for performance issues.
• Ensure trailers meet U.S. Department of Transportation's road safety requirements.
• Compile inspection reports, document repairs, and report findings to management.
• Respond promptly to client inquiries.

Requirements

• 5+ years of verified experience in commercial tractor and trailer repair.
• Valid Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record.
• Basic computer skills to submit repairs for billing.
• Ability to lift 100+ pounds.
• Basic reading and writing skills to complete customer repair orders.

Qualifications

• Experience with welding, certification a plus.
• High School Diploma or equivalent, technical school degree a plus.
• Class A CDL.
• Your own tools.

Skills

• Commercial Tractor and Trailer Repair Experience.
• Basic Computer Skills.
• Basic Reading and Writing Skills.
• Welding Certification (optional).

$30.00 - $40.00 /Hr.

Schedule

M-F schedule with rotating on-call. Weekends off. Paid Time Off including holidays.
