About the role
Fleet Mobile Maintenance (FMM) service offerings include mobile preventative maintenance and mechanical repair, tire replacement and repair services, and trailer repair and maintenance services. We serve several markets in the Southeast corridor of Michigan, including Detroit, Ann Arbor, Battle Creek, Lansing, and Flint, as well as Indianapolis, Cleveland, Louisville, and Nashville. Our on-site service comes to you, eliminating costly downtime, waiting, and moving equipment.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, inspect, and repair Class 8 commercial tractors, trailers, their bodies, systems, and components.
- Write detailed work orders while working mobile road calls and/or in-yard repairs.
- Provide quality customer service, including responding promptly to client queries.
- Perform preventative maintenance, inspect, service, and replace tractor and trailer parts, including tires, hubs, and axles, adjusting or replacing as required.
- Check and repair brake, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
- Test all systems and equipment for performance issues.
- Ensure trailers meet the U.S. Department of Transportation’s road safety requirements.
- Compile inspection reports, document repairs, and report all findings to management.
- Confidently explain diagnoses over the phone and help customers decide on next steps for repairs.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience repairing commercial tractors and trailers.
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record and no suspensions.
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds.
- Comfortable working with computers for billing and work orders.
- Follow verbal and written work orders to stay on track with daily repairs.

Pay
USD $35.00 – USD $42.00 per hour.
