Mobile Fleet Technician

About the role

Penn Jersey Diesel & Trailer is expanding and seeks a Mobile Fleet Technician to join their team. The ideal candidate will be based within a 25-mile radius of Bensalem, PA, enjoy independent work, provide on-site services, and have strong mechanical and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair commercial tractors and trailers
• Write detailed work orders for mobile road calls and yard work
• Provide quality customer service
• Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair semi-truck and trailer bodies, systems, and components
• Perform preventative maintenance measures on fleet semi-trucks and trailers
• Maintain hubs and axles and adjust or replace them as needed
• Inspect, service, and replace tractor and trailer parts, including tires
• Check and repair the brake, electrical, and hydraulic systems
• Ensure trailers meet U.S. DOT road safety requirements
• Compile inspection reports, document repairs, and report findings to management
• Respond promptly to client inquiries

Requirements

• 5+ years of verified experience in commercial tractor and trailer repair
• Valid Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record
• Basic computer skills for submitting repairs for billing
• Ability to lift 100+ pounds
• Basic reading and writing skills for completing customer repair orders
