CBRE is looking for Building Engineers to support several facilities in the Indianapolis, Indiana area, performing repairs and maintaining buildings, industrial systems, equipment, and grounds. This role involves extensive everyday travel within the designated area.
About the role
As a Mobile Building Engineer, you will provide support, preventive maintenance, and repairs on equipment and systems. You must live within a designated radius of the job site to reliably work the required schedule/shift.
Responsibilities
- Oversee maintenance and repairs to mechanical, industrial, plumbing, structural, life safety, and control systems to keep facilities up to applicable standards.
- Review assigned work orders, estimate time and materials needed for repairs, and maintain inventory of supplies and tools.
- Implement preventive maintenance programs to ensure building machinery and systems meet or exceed their rated life; oversee repairs and emergency maintenance.
- Review inspections of building and industrial systems, including fire alarms, HVAC, and plumbing, to ensure equipment operates within design capabilities.
- Oversee compliance with all applicable codes, regulations, governmental agencies, and company directives related to building operations and work safety.
- Operate company-issued vehicles in the execution of daily work responsibilities.
- Apply in-depth knowledge of standard principles and techniques to accomplish complex assignments and provide innovative solutions.
- Coach others and share in-depth knowledge of your job discipline while demonstrating broad knowledge of several job disciplines within the function.
- Lead by example and model behaviors consistent with CBRE RISE values, building consensus and convincing others to reach agreements.
- Impact a range of customer, operational, project, or service activities within your team and related teams.
- Work within broad guidelines and policies, and explain difficult or sensitive information.
Requirements
- High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma with 4-5 years of job-related experience. In lieu of a diploma, a combination of experience and education will be considered.
- Universal CFC certification and valid Driver’s license required.
- Prior shift manager or supervisory experience preferred.
- Meet physical requirements, including stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and lifting/carrying heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more.
- Ability to exercise judgment based on analysis of multiple sources of information.
- Willingness to take a new perspective on existing solutions.
- In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
- Organizational skills with an advanced inquisitive mindset.
- Must be currently authorized to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future.
