About the role

CBRE is seeking Building Engineers to support facilities in the St George, Utah area. The role involves overseeing maintenance and repairs, implementing preventive maintenance programs, and reviewing inspections. The position requires extensive travel and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee maintenance and repairs to mechanical, industrial, plumbing, structural, life safety, and control systems.
  • Review assigned work orders, estimate time and materials needed, and manage inventory of supplies and tools.
  • Implement preventive maintenance programs to ensure equipment meets or exceeds its rated life.
  • Oversee repairs and emergency maintenance as needed.
  • Review inspections of building and industrial systems, including fire alarms, HVAC, and plumbing.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable codes, regulations, and agency directives.
  • Operate company-issued vehicles as part of daily work responsibilities.
  • Apply in-depth knowledge of standard principles and techniques to accomplish complex assignments and provide innovative solutions.
  • Coach others and share knowledge of job disciplines.
  • Lead by example and model behaviors consistent with CBRE RISE values.
  • Build consensus and reach agreements among stakeholders.
  • Impact a range of customer, operational, project, or service activities within the team and other related teams.
  • Explain difficult or sensitive information.

Requirements

  • Currently authorized to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Proven experience as a building engineer; minimum of four (4) years.
  • Universal EPA license required.
  • Mobile maintenance experience highly preferred.
  • Possess and maintain a valid driver's license and good driving record with periodic checks.
  • Certification in two or more of the following: Electrical, Mechanical, HVAC and Refrigeration systems, process controls, mechanical power transmissions, painting, plumbing, carpentry, or engine repair as well as CFC Certification.
  • Meet the physical requirements of the role including stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and lifting/carrying heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more.
  • Understanding of existing procedures and standards to solve slightly complex problems.
  • Ability to analyze possible solutions using technical experience to apply appropriate judgment and precedents.
  • Strong organizational skills with an inquisitive mindset.
  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).

Qualifications

  • Commercial and Industrial maintenance experience.
  • Mechanical (overhead doors), Electrical (3-phase, lighting/ballast), and Plumbing experience.
  • Lockout-Tagout (LOTO) and OSHA 10 certification is a plus.
  • Proficient computer skills (Microsoft Office & CMMS).
