About the Role

As a Mobile Maintenance Technician, you travel to a customer’s facility or distribution center with a fully equipped "bay on wheels" to perform preventive maintenance services and repairs. This role involves troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing heavy-duty trucks and trailers in a professional and accommodating manner, ensuring every traveler is returned to the road better than they came.

Our Truck Service team spans coast to coast with over 280 locations, offering a fun, trusting environment focused on exceeding customer expectations.

Responsibilities

  • Travel to customer facilities or distribution centers to perform preventive maintenance and repairs.
  • Diagnose wear conditions and provide recommendations to customers.
  • Understand and apply Truck Service Standard Services and specialized customer programs.
  • Follow safety guidelines and report potentially unsafe situations.
  • Work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, in interior and exterior conditions.

Requirements

  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Previous experience in repair or parts shop preferred.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Valid driver’s license with an acceptable motor vehicle record.
  • Ability to pass a DOT physical examination annually.
  • Must be able to work in a team-oriented environment.

Physical Demands

  • Regularly required to talk and hear.
  • Occasionally required to stand, walk, kneel, stoop, bend, crouch, crawl, and climb.
  • Occasionally lift up to 50 lbs and/or move heavy objects.
  • Specific vision abilities include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment

  • Exposure to outdoor elements in all seasons.
  • Occasional exposure to fumes, particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibration.
  • Noise levels can be loud at times.
  • Exposure to dirt, dust, grime, grease, oil, gas, and high-concentrated cleaning solutions.
