Mobile Diesel Mechanic

Responsibilities

• Perform repairs and inspections on Class 6-8 trucks and trailers, including brakes, diagnostics, A/C systems, electrical systems, engine components, exhaust systems, after-treatment systems, lift-gates, and tires.
• Schedule and oversee all maintenance procedures, including preventive maintenance and DOT inspections.
• Repair or replace vehicle/trailer components.
• Open and close repair orders on a company-issued device.
• Obtain parts from local vendors and manage inventory on the service truck.
• Accurately complete DOT forms and other documentation in a timely manner.

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of diesel and trailer repair experience preferred.
• Valid Driver’s License required.
• Self-motivated with excellent organization and planning skills.
• Ability to utilize a computer/tablet for electronic processing of work orders, including adding labor hours and updating work order statuses.
• 2 years of experience in performing annual federal inspections and brake inspections.
• 2 years of experience in truck/trailer maintenance and repair or equivalent combination of experience and education.
• Basic computer skills.
• Must possess proper tools.
• Ability to work extended and/or irregular hours, including weekends and holidays when needed.
• Must be able to complete all physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.

Qualifications (Preferred)

• High School education or equivalent.
• Certifications (e.g., welding, CDL) are a plus.
• Welding experience.
• CDL.

Working Conditions

• Working outdoors in extreme weather conditions (heat, cold, humidity).

Pay

$35 - $40/hr, commensurate with experience.
