Mobile Diesel Mechanic

About the role

Prestige Fleet Services is a locally run, family-oriented fleet maintenance network focused on providing top-notch maintenance and repairs to keep your fleet on the road. We are seeking experienced and motivated technicians to join our team.

Responsibilities

• Perform repairs and inspections on a variety of Class 6-8 trucks and trailers, including brakes, diagnostics, A/C systems, electrical systems, engine components, exhaust systems, after-treatment systems, lift-gates, tires, etc.
• Schedule and oversee all maintenance procedures, including preventive maintenance and DOT inspections.
• Repair/replace vehicle/trailer components.
• Open and close repair orders on a company-issued device.
• Obtain parts from local vendors and manage inventory on the service truck.
• Accurately complete DOT forms and all other forms of documentation in a timely manner.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of diesel and trailer repair experience preferred.
• Communication skills.
• Valid Driver’s License required.
• Self-motivated with excellent organization and planning skills.
• Ability to utilize a computer/tablet for electronic processing of work orders.
• 2 years of experience in performing annual federal inspections and brake inspections.
• 2 years of experience in truck/trailer maintenance and repair or equivalent combination of experience and education.
• Basic computer skills.
• Must possess proper tools.

Qualifications

• High school education or equivalent.
• Certifications are a plus.
• Welding experience is a plus.

Skills

• Strong mechanical aptitude.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to work extended and/or irregular hours including weekends and holidays when needed.

Pay

$35 - $45/hr. - pay is commensurate with experience.

Schedule

• First and second shifts available.

Performance-Based Incentives

In addition to hourly pay, technicians are eligible to participate in our productivity and efficiency incentive program. Incentives are paid weekly, allowing technicians to earn and receive additional compensation throughout the month rather than waiting for monthly or quarterly payouts.
