Mobile Diesel Mechanic

Responsibilities

• Perform repairs and inspections on Class 6‑8 trucks and trailers, including brakes, diagnostics, A/C systems, electrical systems, engine components, exhaust systems, after‑treatment systems, lift‑gates, and tires.
• Schedule and oversee all maintenance procedures, including preventive maintenance and DOT inspections.
• Repair or replace vehicle and trailer components.
• Open and close repair orders on a company‑issued device.
• Obtain parts from local vendors and manage inventory on the service truck.
• Accurately complete DOT forms and all other required documentation in a timely fashion.

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years diesel and trailer repair experience (preferred).
• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to work extended and/or irregular hours, including weekends and holidays when needed.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Self‑motivated with excellent organization and planning skills.
• Proficiency with a computer/tablet for electronic work‑order processing (adding labor hours, updating statuses).
• At least 2 years experience performing annual federal inspections and brake inspections.
• At least 2 years experience in truck/trailer maintenance and repair, or an equivalent combination of experience and education.
• Basic computer skills.
• Must possess proper tools.

Preferred Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., DOT, brake certification).
• Welding experience.

Working Conditions

Pay

Salary range: $29 – $36 per hour (also listed as $33 – $44 per hour).

Schedule

• First and second shifts available.
• Extended and irregular hours may be required, including weekends and holidays.
