Mobile Diesel Mechanic

About the role

Prestige Fleet Services is a locally run, family‑oriented fleet maintenance network providing on‑site truck and trailer repair. The company uses cutting‑edge technology to reduce admin time, letting technicians focus on repairs. Their mobile technicians are D.O.T. and brake certified, experienced with Class 6‑8 trucks and trailers, and committed to quality parts and service.

Responsibilities

• Perform repairs and inspections on a variety of Class 6-8 trucks and trailers, such as brakes, diagnostics, A/C systems, electrical systems, engine components, exhaust systems, after‑treatment systems, lift‑gates, tires, etc.
• Schedule and oversee all maintenance procedures, including preventive maintenance and DOT inspections.
• Repair/replace vehicle/trailer components.
• Open and close repair orders on a company‑issued device.
• Obtain parts from local vendors and manage inventory on the service truck.
• Accurately complete DOT forms and all other documentation in a timely fashion.

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of diesel and trailer repair experience (preferred).
• Valid Driver’s License required.
• Ability to work extended and/or irregular hours including weekends and holidays when needed.
• Self‑motivated with excellent organization and planning skills.
• Ability to utilize a computer/tablet for electronic processing of work orders (adding labor hours, updating status).
• 2 years of experience performing annual federal inspections and brake inspections.
• 2 years of experience in truck/trailer maintenance and repair or equivalent combination of experience and education.
• Basic computer skills.
• Must possess proper tools.

Qualifications

• High school education or equivalent.
• Certifications are a plus.
• Welding experience.

Communication skills; ability to work under extreme weather conditions (outdoors, extreme heat/cold/humidity); ability to complete the physical requirements of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.

Pay

$29 – $36 per hour.

Schedule
