Principle Responsibilities

  • Clinical and Operational Support
  • Maintains uninterrupted clinical care through proactive inventory management of medical and radiological supplies.
  • Promotes team efficiency and problem resolution by identifying issues early, communicating effectively with supervisors and colleagues, and contributing actionable solutions.
  • Safeguards patient safety and compliance by maintaining precise and up-to-date patient records and documentation, supporting quality care and regulatory standards.
  • Optimizes patient experience and care coordination by collaborating with the lung cancer screening team to ensure smooth patient flow and timely follow-up.
  • Fosters a positive care environment by consistently demonstrating professionalism and respect in interactions with patients, coworkers, and external contacts.
  • Ensures regulatory readiness and compliance by accurately maintaining Department of Health records related to Ionizing Radiation, meeting inspection standards at all times.
  • Completes CT exams in compliance with provider orders and department guidelines.
  • Delivers high-quality diagnostic imaging by performing CT examinations with precision and adhering to physician orders, regulatory standards, and departmental protocols.
  • Safeguards patient safety and identity accuracy through verification processes, and compliance with screening and safety procedures, including glucose monitor precautions.
  • Supports accurate clinical interpretation by documenting all relevant procedural details and gathering essential information for radiologist review.
  • Maintains a safe and comfortable patient experience by monitoring patients throughout the exam, responding promptly to needs, and positioning them correctly for optimal image quality.
  • Protects patients, staff, and the public by strictly following radiation safety guidelines, utilizing protective equipment, and minimizing exposure through protocol-driven parameter adjustments.
  • Guarantees imaging integrity and accessibility by verifying successful transfer of all images to the storage and retrieval system and reviewing technical quality before radiologist interpretation.
  • Preserves equipment performance and compliance through routine quality control checks and proper operation of the low-dose CT scanner and associated technology.
  • Mobile Unit Operations and Support
  • Supports proper setup and breakdown of the unit and equipment at each location, enabling timely patient care.
  • Maintains operational readiness and continuity through proactive coordination with program management on scheduling, supply needs, and logistical requirements.
  • Promotes patient and staff safety by identifying and escalating potential hazards, including radiation safety concerns, and ensuring compliance with safety protocols.
  • Delivers a clean and professional environment by maintaining cleanliness and disinfecting the mobile unit and equipment, supporting infection control and patient confidence.
  • Protects equipment functionality and longevity by reporting maintenance needs promptly, reducing downtime and ensuring consistent service quality.

Required Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology Program (JRCERT accredited)
  • 2+ years experience as a CT Technologist
  • Preferred qualifications: 5+ years as CT Technologist, Experience working in a mobile health setting, Licenses/Certifications: Registered Technologist - The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) required
  • Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association, Current BLS certification from the American Red Cross, Allina in-house BLS training (within 30 days of hire)

Physical Demands

  • Medium Work*: Lifting weight up to 32 lbs. occasionally (*Allina Safe Patient Moving Policy), up to 25 lbs. frequently

Schedule & Work Environment

  • 1.0 FTE (80 hours per two-week pay period)
  • 10-hour day/evening shifts
  • Occasional weekend shift required
  • Schedule includes: Four 10-hour shifts per week on the Mobile Lung Cancer Screening Truck Program & Role Overview
  • This position supports the Lung Cancer Screening / Early Lung Cancer Detection Program
  • Workdays begin at Abbott Northwestern Hospital, where the team prepares and stocks the mobile screening unit
  • The team then travels to scheduled community locations to provide lung cancer screening services
  • Overnight travel to support communities across Minnesota is anticipated beginning in 2027, with an estimated travel requirement of 5%–15%

Pay Range

  • $7500.00 Signing Bonus for Eligible External Talent**
  • Pay Range: $40.08 to $54.93 per hour
