MOBILE CONSTRUCTION MECHANIC (CLASS B CDL.)

About the role

H.L. Chapman Pipeline Construction is a leader in trenching for utilities, oil & gas pipeline construction, and mass rock excavation. We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Mobile Construction Mechanic to join our team. This position is based in San Antonio, TX, and requires travel to project sites throughout the San Antonio area to support our field operations and maintain our fleet of heavy construction equipment.

Responsibilities

• Travel to jobsite and diagnose equipment failure.
• Make repairs as necessary to return equipment to operational state.
• Perform a wide variety of tasks including electrical, A/C, hydraulics, undercarriage, and major component removal and replacement (engines, transmissions, differentials).
• Diagnose minor engine and transmission problems such as overheating, fuel issues, and leaks.

Requirements

• Commercial Driver’s License (Class B minimum).
• Physical demands (with or without accommodation): Kneeling/Squatting 0‑2 hours, Bending/Stooping 0‑2 hours, Pushing/Pulling 0‑2 hours, Twisting 0‑2 hours, Walking 8‑10 hours, Climbing stairs/ladders 0‑2 hours, Reaching overhead 0‑2 hours, Reaching 0‑2 hours, Standing 8‑10 hours, Sitting 0‑2 hours, Lifting up to 50 lbs.
