About the role
As a Diesel Mechanic, you'll perform crucial repairs on various cargo vans and box truck brands with minimal supervision. Responsibilities include routine maintenance such as oil changes, lubrication, tire repairs, and potentially warranty repairs. You may assist experienced mechanics with complex repairs and travel to broken-down vehicles to perform on-site repairs. You may also be required to drive a Budget Truck on public roads.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance: oil changes, lubrication, tire repairs
- Conduct warranty repairs based on expertise level
- Assist experienced mechanics with complex repair processes
- Travel to vehicle locations for on-site repairs
- Drive Budget Trucks on public access roads when required
Requirements
- Valid Driver’s License (Class A, B, or C CDL)
- At least 2 years of experience with mechanical repairs and diagnostics on heavy-duty and medium-duty equipment
- 1 ASE certification (ability to acquire 2 additional ASE certifications within the first year)
- Knowledgeable in ASE certification areas: Engine Repair, Drive Train/Axles, Suspension/Steering, Brakes, Electrical, Heating/Air Conditioning, Engine Performance, Light Vehicle/Diesel
- Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions near a mechanical shop with moderate noise
- Complete set of tools required for auto repair and maintenance
- Basic computer skills, including typing and data entry
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks: sitting, standing, bending, reaching, walking, kneeling, climbing into/exiting vehicles
- Must be at least 21 years old and legally authorized to work in the United States
- Must be able to obtain DOT medical clearance
- On-site requirement: This position cannot be performed remotely
Qualifications
- Previous Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) experience preferred
