Mobile Associate - Retail Sales

Job Overview

Mobile Associates (MA) work as a member of a Retail Team of Experts to bring the T‑Mobile brand to life. They are brand ambassadors who build energy and excitement around our products and services, thrive in a fast‑paced environment, and continuously develop expertise in uncovering customer needs, educating, demonstrating, and recommending device and service solutions. This is a learning role that prepares associates for the Mobile Expert level after completing new‑employee training.

Responsibilities

• Help customers resume their shopping journey across online, Customer Care, or in‑store channels.
• Explore individual needs and provide hands‑on demonstrations of the latest technology in‑store.
• Engage in side‑by‑side selling to create personalized solutions, including accessories and IoT devices.
• Approach service and sales interactions with composure, integrity, and compassion.
• Utilize digital tools to illustrate coverage, network speed, and the benefits of T‑Mobile plans.
• Complete training on in‑store experience, new skills, processes, systems, and reference resources.
• Maximize shift time by seeking information, learning about wireless innovations, and staying product‑savvy.
• Partner with T‑Mobile employees across channels to own the customer experience, resolve issues, and create a seamless environment.
• Identify and hand off small‑business leads.
• Support team initiatives and foster an inclusive environment.

Education and Experience

• High School Diploma or GED (required).
• At least 6 months of customer service and/or sales experience; retail environment preferred.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Passionate customer advocate who can be authentic and have fun while connecting with customers.
• Competitive drive and proven ability to succeed in a fast‑paced sales environment.
• Willingness to work alongside peers and store leaders, sharing ideas and providing resolutions.
• Effective at balancing customer needs with performance goals.

Licenses and Certifications

• At least 18 years of age.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States.

Pay

Hourly Base Pay: $18.00, plus $5.00 per hour training pay. Within the first 90 days, Mobile Associates receive on‑the‑job training and are eligible for the training pay. After training, they promote to Mobile Expert and become eligible for an annualized incentive target of $18,000 (actual incentives vary based on performance and full‑time status). All employees are guaranteed to earn $20 / hour inclusive of base pay and incentives. Employees are also eligible for an annual stock grant.
