About the role

Mobile Associates (MA) work as part of a Retail Team of Experts to bring the T-Mobile brand to life. They act as brand ambassadors, building energy and excitement around products and services. This role thrives in a fast-paced environment where technology, customer needs, and retail experiences continuously evolve. Mobile Associates immerse themselves in meaningful customer connections, building and deepening relationships while developing expertise in uncovering customer needs. They educate, demonstrate, and recommend device and service solutions. This is a learning role where associates proactively build skills and proficiencies to prepare for advancement to the Mobile Expert level. New associates must successfully complete new employee training.

Responsibilities

  • Build proficiency in serving and selling to customers while delivering a world-class experience and fostering loyalty by:
    • Helping customers continue their shopping journey, whether online, through Customer Care, or in-store.
    • Providing hands-on demonstrations of the latest technology in-store.
    • Engaging in side-by-side selling to offer personalized solutions beyond basic devices and plans, including unique accessories and cutting-edge IoT devices.
    • Approaching service and sales with composure, integrity, and compassion.
  • Develop skills in using digital tools during interactions and onboarding to demonstrate:
    • T-Mobile’s expanding coverage and lightning-fast LTE network in the customer’s neighborhood.
    • How T-Mobile plans and services enable customers to live unlimited, stay connected, and go further.
  • Complete training on T-Mobile’s in-store experience, new skills, processes, and system knowledge.
  • Maximize time on shift by seeking information between customer interactions and learning about wireless and technology innovations.
  • Establish relationships and partner with T-Mobile employees across channels, including business and customer service, to:
    • Collectively own the customer experience and resolve issues, creating a seamless, run-around-free environment.
    • Successfully identify and handoff small business leads.
    • Support team initiatives and foster an inclusive environment.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED (required).
  • 6 months of customer service and/or sales experience; retail environment preferred.

Skills

  • Passionate customer advocate with the desire to connect authentically and enjoy the process (required).
  • Competitive drive and ability to succeed in a fast-paced sales environment (required).
  • Willingness to work alongside peers and store leaders, learning and sharing ideas while serving customers and resolving issues.
  • Effective at balancing customer needs with performance goals (required).

Qualifications

  • At least 18 years of age.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States.

No travel required. This position is not DOT regulated, safety-sensitive, or subject to drug testing.

Pay

Hourly base pay starts at $18.00, plus $5.00 per hour training pay during the first 90 days. After completing on-the-job training and promoting to the Mobile Expert role, associates become eligible for an annualized incentive target of $18,000/year (actual incentives vary based on performance and full-time status). All employees are guaranteed to earn at least $20/hour, inclusive of base pay and incentives. Every employee is also eligible for an Annual Stock Grant.
