Mobile App Tech Lead

About the role

The Mobile App Tech Lead position is based in Torrance, CA. This role involves onsite travel approximately 1-2 weeks per year and occasional overtime. The salary range is $99-104k, with benefits including medical, vision, dental, and a 401K.

Responsibilities

• Guide and mentor the mobile development team to ensure successful project delivery.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to plan, design, develop, test, and maintain mobile applications.
• Build scalable and maintainable solutions for complex business challenges.
• Lead development for Android (Kotlin/Java) and iOS (Swift/Objective-C) platforms.
• Work with RESTful APIs, OAuth, JWT, and third-party SDKs.
• Implement and maintain CarPlay and Android Auto features.
• Ensure high standards through code reviews, debugging, and performance optimization.
• Maintain clear and comprehensive technical documentation.
• Work closely with product managers, designers, and backend engineers and other stakeholders.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience in mobile and smartwatch app development.
• Expertise in native Android (Kotlin/Java) and iOS (Swift/Objective-C).
• Strong understanding of authentication protocols (OAuth, JWT) and API integration.
• Experience with CarPlay and Android Auto.
• Proficient in debugging and performance optimization.
• Familiarity with MQTT and real-time communication.
• Experience integrating third-party SDKs.

Qualifications

• Optional but preferred: Experience with hybrid frameworks (React Native, Flutter, AngularJS, NodeJS).
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines for mobile apps.
• Understanding of mobile security best practices.
• Experience in Agile/Scrum environments.
• Understanding of the automotive domain and Digital Services experience.
