About The Role Snowbird Agility is seeking a mid-level Mobile Application Developer to help develop, test, release, and maintain the OnlyPlants mobile application for iOS and Android. You will work primarily with React Native, TypeScript, and Expo, partnering with product, UX/UI, backend engineering, and business colleagues to turn requirements and designs into intuitive, dependable mobile experiences. This role is suited to a developer who can take assigned features through implementation and testing, communicate progress and blockers, and seek guidance when technical challenges require it. Priorities may evolve in a startup environment, so adaptability, sound judgment, and a willingness to learn are important. You will contribute to a consumer-facing product while helping maintain code quality, application performance, and a consistent experience across platforms. Qualifications Required qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience, and approximately two to four years of professional mobile application development experience. Candidates should have experience building, testing, and maintaining production mobile applications, with hands-on knowledge of React Native and TypeScript. Experience with Expo or a comparable React Native toolchain is strongly preferred. You should be familiar with integrating mobile applications with RESTful APIs and backend services, mobile interface and usability principles, responsive layouts, state management, and cross-platform behavior. Working knowledge of Git and collaborative development practices, including feature branches, pull requests, and code reviews, is expected. Candidates should be able to investigate application issues, understand security, authentication, and data protection fundamentals, and manage assigned work while collaborating effectively and asking for guidance when appropriate. Preferred experience includes supporting applications on both iOS and Android; familiarity with Swift or Kotlin; and exposure to cloud services, Expo Application Services, GitHub Actions, or other mobile build and CI/CD tools. Experience with push notifications, analytics, payments, location services, camera functionality, app store releases, automated testing, accessibility, or consumer-facing products is also valuable. Responsibilities Develop, test, and maintain OnlyPlants features for iOS and Android using React Native, TypeScript, and Expo. Translate product requirements, user feedback, designs, and wireframes into responsive, intuitive, and accessible interfaces. Collaborate with product, UX/UI, backend engineering, and business teams to clarify requirements and deliver mobile capabilities. Integrate the application with RESTful APIs, backend services, authentication systems, and third-party platforms. Implement consumer mobile functionality such as user profiles, push notifications, location-aware experiences, and camera or image features as needed. Write clean, reusable, maintainable code and create or maintain unit and integration tests according to team practices. Troubleshoot bugs, build issues, development-environment problems, and user-facing defects, escalating complex issues when appropriate. Contribute to application performance, reliability, usability, and user experience improvements. Participate in code reviews and follow established GitHub issue, branch, pull request, and continuous integration practices. Assist with mobile builds, release preparation, and deployments through Expo/EAS and the Apple App Store and Google Play processes. Share progress, risks, dependencies, and blockers clearly, and communicate recurring feedback or opportunities for improvement.
