MO/KS Structural Business Class Leader
About the role
We'll count on you to provide leadership for the Structural Business Class in Missouri/Kansas, focusing on technical excellence, quality, recruiting, and staff development. You'll identify and collaborate with market sector leadership to ensure technical excellence in key markets such as aerospace, aviation, commercial, civic, healthcare, higher-education, industrial, mission critical, sports, and water facilities. Engage with clients and community stakeholders, participate in marketing, planning, proposals, and interviews, and promote HDR and our Structural Engineering practice within the engineering and architecture community.
Responsibilities
- Provide leadership for the Structural Business Class in Missouri/Kansas with a focus on technical excellence, quality, recruiting, and staff development.
- Identify and collaborate with market sector leadership to ensure technical excellence in key markets including aerospace, aviation, commercial, civic, healthcare, higher-education, industrial, mission critical, sports, and water facilities.
- Engage with clients and community stakeholders.
- Participate in delivery of project services to meet client expectations.
- Be involved in marketing, planning, proposals, and interviews in key markets.
- Promote HDR and our Structural Engineering practice within the engineering and architecture community including participation in conferences and with clients.
- Function as design lead and/or engineering project manager for key projects.
- Lead Structural Business Group operations, including project staffing, professional development, profitability, morale, and quality control.
- Achieve and maintain profitability, morale, and quality control.
- Implement, monitor, and support company policy.
- Work cooperatively with other business class leaders, operations managers, technical directors, and marketing managers on business class efforts.
- Collaborate with the national Structural Business Class Director and Structural Business Class Leaders in other geographies to advance the entire Business Class.
- Actively participate in work-sharing and structural practice development with a nation-wide network of HDR structural engineers.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in civil engineering or architectural engineering with structural emphasis.
- Licensed in Missouri and/or Kansas.
- Preference given to local candidates.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a Professional, Architecture, Engineering or closely related field.
- 10 years of experience.
- Committed to quality, improvement, and HDR values.
- Maintains a professional or engineering registration and has related technical experience.
- Experienced in development and management of diverse teams.
- Works cooperatively with other area business class leaders, operations managers, technical directors, and marketing managers on business class efforts.

- Actively engaged in professional or industry associations to enhance HDR technical expertise and brand.

Pay
The salary range for this position is $85,000 - $125,000 annually.
