Maintain laboratory procedures, equipment and processes
- Aid diagnosis and treat diseases through laboratory procedures.
- Review and note appropriate values on lab reports.
- Handle blood, body fluids, and hazardous chemicals safely.
- Operate automated equipment within procedure limits.
- Record laboratory testing and results accurately.
- Comply with CLIA compliance requirements.
- Perform quality control procedures.
- Document QC results and corrective actions.
- Manage inventory of laboratory supplies.
- Order, reject, review, and approve tests using LIS.
- Identify and address issues affecting test performance or reporting.
- Document corrective actions when needed.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Perform clean venipuncture and capillary collections.
- Understand and apply proper quality control procedures.
- Document quality assurance activities.
- Correct problems or notify management when necessary.
- Read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos.
- Take direction and present information effectively.
- Build rapport with patients for exceptional direct patient care.
- Multi-task and work under pressure.
Education And Experience
- Hematology experience preferred.
- Minimum (1) year of laboratory experience preferred.
- Associate Degree in Applied Sciences, Medical Laboratory Technology, or Bachelor Degree in Medical Technology required.
- Outpatient facility experience preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Willing and able to lift up to 25 pounds.
- Willing and able to travel to satellite clinics when necessary.
