Maintain laboratory procedures, equipment and processes

• Aid diagnosis and treat diseases through laboratory procedures.
• Review and note appropriate values on lab reports.
• Handle blood, body fluids, and hazardous chemicals safely.
• Operate automated equipment within procedure limits.
• Record laboratory testing and results accurately.
• Comply with CLIA compliance requirements.
• Perform quality control procedures.
• Document QC results and corrective actions.
• Manage inventory of laboratory supplies.
• Order, reject, review, and approve tests using LIS.
• Identify and address issues affecting test performance or reporting.
• Document corrective actions when needed.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Perform clean venipuncture and capillary collections.
• Understand and apply proper quality control procedures.
• Document quality assurance activities.
• Correct problems or notify management when necessary.
• Read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos.
• Take direction and present information effectively.
• Build rapport with patients for exceptional direct patient care.
• Multi-task and work under pressure.

Education And Experience

• Hematology experience preferred.
• Minimum (1) year of laboratory experience preferred.
• Associate Degree in Applied Sciences, Medical Laboratory Technology, or Bachelor Degree in Medical Technology required.
• Outpatient facility experience preferred.

Physical Requirements

• Willing and able to lift up to 25 pounds.
• Willing and able to travel to satellite clinics when necessary.
