Job Summary

Demonstrate adequate knowledge of the hospital, laboratory, and referral facilities computer systems.

Show proficiency in patient specimen collection and test order functions.

Correctly perform venipuncture/capillary/urine/drug screen collection techniques.

Collect all specimens efficiently and on time.

Perform instrument maintenance and/or quality control as necessary.

Comply with all applicable laboratory safety policies and procedures.

Function in all areas of the laboratory (Blood Bank, Chem., Hemo, Coag, Urinalysis, Micro, Immuno).

Handle non-technical, phlebotomy, and clerical duties as needed.

Experience/Qualifications

  • Successful completion of an Associate’s Degree from an accredited Medical Laboratory Technician Program
  • MLT certification by ASCP, AMT, AAB, or other nationally recognized certification agency
  • New graduates must pass one of the national certification exams within 18 months of hire
  • Competency assessment and continuing education in laboratory sciences required throughout employment
  • Maintenance of certification is required during employment with Archbold Medical Center
  • Experience as deemed necessary to be accordance with certification by the Georgia Department of Human Resources
