MLS Program Coordinator - Laboratory - UH Truman Medical Center (5 days per week, 7:30a-4:00p, Mon-Fri)

Location: University Health Truman Medical Center, Kansas City, Missouri. Department: Medical Laboratory Science, UHTMC.

About the role

Works under the delegation of the Systems Director of Laboratory Operations to oversee, coordinate, and administer all aspects of the ongoing Medical Laboratory Science (MLS) program within the laboratory, including developing, planning, organizing, staffing, leading, and controlling the program’s activities and accreditation.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and coordinate the MLS program
• Develop, plan, organize, staff, lead, and control program activities
• Ensure program accreditation and compliance

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in laboratory/medical technology science
• Completion of an AMA‑approved laboratory training program
• MT(ASCP) certification (or equivalent)
• Previously qualified or could qualify as a general supervisor prior to 2/29/92 under 42 CFR 493.1427 (3/14/90)

Skills

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Demonstrated proficiency in computer hardware and software use
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree in a related health‑care administration field or equivalent
• Previous teaching experience

Schedule

Work schedule: 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM, Monday–Friday (5 days per week, 40 hours per week).
