Lab Info Processing Specialist (part-time) - General Lab - UH Truman Medical Center (2 days per week; 6:30p-3:00a; Sat-Sun)

Job Description

Responsible for a variety of clerical duties in the Clinical Laboratory. Logs in specimens, processes specimens for reference labs, charts, files, answers telephone, and picks up and delivers specimens. Performs phlebotomy on outpatients (first shift only).

Minimum Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Verbal communication skills to answer telephone, greet patients and visitors, and respond to requests for information
• Knowledge of the human development process and ability to work effectively with patients of all ages
• Written communication skills to take messages
• Computer aptitude to use a keyboard and function in a Windows environment
• Good organizational skills
• The ability to walk long distances while pushing a cart
• The ability to file alphabetically or numerically

Preferred

• Completion of course in medical terminology
• Previous phlebotomy experience

Work Schedule

• 7:00PM - 3:30AM
• Saturday - Sunday
