MLS/Medical Technologist | Dept of Pathology | Evenings | Full-time

Responsibilities

• Perform simple and complex analysis on tissue, blood and body fluids using laboratory instrumentation, manual methods and procedures.
• Approve the performance of tests by technicians.
• Assume accountability for patient tests by providing a high standard of quality using independent judgment in the performance of standard operating procedures and complex instrumentation in varying sample environments.

Qualifications

• Minimum Education and Experience Requirements: Bachelor Degree in Clinical/Medical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, Biology, or a closely related field or the equivalent.
• Must also meet state licensure requirements as stated in FL Statue 64B3-5.003 Technologist and have one (1) year experience in NAACLS approved program OR one (1) year working as a Technologist in a hospital laboratory.
• Current employees who were hired or transferred into the position prior to October 1, 2024, who meet state licensure requirements as stated in FL Statute 64B3-5.003 Technologist are grandfathered in.
• Motor Vehicle Operator Designation (Required): Employees in this position: Will not operate vehicles for an assigned business purpose
• Licensure/Certification/Registration: Must possess either a temporary or current license as a State of Florida Clinical Laboratory Technologist in the specialty(s) required for the job.
