MLS/Medical Technologist | Laboratory | Full-time | Evenings

Responsibilities

• Performs laboratory testing with accuracy and precision specific to the assigned section for the treatment and diagnosis of diseases.
• Enters test results in the laboratory information system accurately and promptly.
• Documents and calls all critical values to a Health Care provider.
• Adheres to the clinical laboratory’s quality control policies in performing, resulting, troubleshooting, and documenting all quality control activities.
• Issues unable to be resolved are reported promptly to Supervisor, Manager or Director.
• Performs and documents preventative maintenance and troubleshooting records in order to maintain high quality laboratory service.
• Is capable of identifying problems that may adversely affect test performance or reporting of test results and either must correct the problems or immediately notify a supervisor or director.
• Follows and reviews general laboratory, safety, and department policies and procedures.
• Provides instruction and training in theory, technical skills, safety protocols, and laboratory procedures to students and employees.
• Performs proficiency testing on external and internal specimens to adhere to regulatory requirements.
• Maintains adequate inventory levels for continuous operation and reports all deviations to department supervisor.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in Medical Technologist/Clinical Laboratory Science.
• Licensed Medical Technologist in Florida.
