MLS Blood Banker - Reference & Transfusion
About the Role
The Medical Laboratory Scientist – Blood Banker (MLS-BB) participates in all activities within Reference & Transfusion (R&T) Services, including performing testing and services associated with assigned departmental duties within the scope of complexity defined by accrediting agencies. The role ensures daily R&T laboratory operations meet all established regulatory and quality standards, deliver excellence in transfusion services, and support the needs of all R&T customers.
The MLS-BB exemplifies and champions Carter BloodCare (CBC) Core Values and Code of Conduct, adheres to CBC policies and applicable Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and maintains active and current professional licensure and/or certifications as required.
Periodic travel between assigned work areas to support other locations/projects in CBC service regions, as well as to attend in-services, training, and meetings, is required. This position may require working varied shifts, extended hours, weekends, and/or overtime to support operational needs.
Responsibilities
- Perform testing and services within the scope of complexity defined by accrediting agencies.
- Participate in competency, proficiency, and educational activities.
- Support ongoing development and organizational goals by attending meetings and training sessions, as assigned.
- Maintain regular full-time attendance during normal working hours.
Schedule
Monday - Friday, 13:00 - 21:30, with rotating weekends.
