About the role
Vitalant is seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist I or Medical Lab Generalist dedicated to making a positive difference. Your impact as a Medical Laboratory Scientist/Generalist is vital. Support Vitalant's life-saving mission by contributing to laboratory operations. You will manage reagents, supplies, and inventory, input patient data, and provide exceptional customer service.
Responsibilities
- Manage Special Red Cell inventory and distribution.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation.
- Perform routine maintenance on equipment and identify malfunctions.
- Conduct preparation and prequalification of reagents.
Requirements
- Medical Lab Generalist:
- Bachelor's degree that meets CLIA requirements (medical sciences, chemistry, or biology).
- No experience required; new graduates welcome.
- Medical Lab Scientist:
- Bachelor's degree in Medical Lab Science or Bachelor's degree with ASCP Medical Lab Scientist or Blood Bank certification.
- No experience required; new graduates welcome.
Pay
- Medical Lab Generalist: $21.63–$22.38 per hour (based on years of relevant experience).
- Medical Lab Scientist: $32.17 per hour.
Schedule
Evenings: 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM with weekend rotation (weekend shift differential). Training on day shift.
