Responsibilities

  • Support pharmacological services by assembling, stocking, and distributing medications.
  • Maintain records by documenting and filing prescriptions and physician orders.
  • Sort, stock, and label medications while monitoring inventory.
  • Respond to requests from patients and healthcare providers, answer questions, and refer inquiries to the Pharmacy Manager.
  • Comply with rules, regulations, and procedures to maintain a clean and safe pharmacy, including sterilizing equipment and surfaces.
  • Process prescriptions electronically, ensuring all information is accurate and complete.
  • Generate revenues by recording, calculating, and issuing charges.
  • Perform administrative tasks such as record-keeping as assigned by the Pharmacy Manager.
  • Deliver medications at the counter and process payments.
  • Assist patients with insurance questions.
  • Help research and apply for drug assistance programs for patients needing financial assistance.
  • Organize pharmacy inventory.
  • Measure, mix, and label medication dosages.
  • Under the supervision of the Pharmacy Manager, dispense prescription and over-the-counter medications to patients.
  • Collect insurance and other information necessary to distribute prescriptions.
  • Repackage prescriptions.
  • Additional responsibilities may be assigned to support our mission of delivering high-quality and compassionate cancer care.

Requirements

  • Active SC Pharmacy Technician registration or SC State-Certified Pharmacy Technician registration.
  • Must be a Certified Pharmacy Technician.
  • Computer skills required: proficiency in electronic medical records systems, pharmacy systems, and Microsoft Office.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Community Pharmacy daily operations, including filling, processing, and dispensing oral medications.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the practice of community-based pharmacy.
  • Ability to work effectively with all departments, vendors, and consultants.
