Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Able to identify proper butter SKU to throw based on-line requirements.
  • Stage butter to the line using approved material handling equipment per FIFO policy.
  • Safely set up, operate, and clean mixing equipment.
  • Accurately weigh, measure, and mix ingredients according to approved formulations.
  • Maintain accurate production records and batch documentation.
  • Verify ingredients, pallet IDs, and lot numbers to ensure traceability.
  • Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), food safety, and sanitation requirements.
  • Report equipment issues, product concerns, or safety hazards to supervision.

Production Operator Responsibilities

  • Safely operate assigned production equipment, maintaining quality and efficiency standards.
  • Monitor product quality and adjust within established operating procedures.
  • Perform equipment setup, line startup, shutdown, and product changeovers as assigned.
  • Packaging, inspecting, and handling finished products according to quality standards.
  • Maintain production pace to meet daily schedules and department goals.
  • Assist with cleaning and sanitation activities to maintain a safe and food-safe environment.
  • Support other production areas as needed.

General Responsibilities

  • Follow all Butterball® Farms Inc. safety policies, procedures, and expectations.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and food-safe work environment.
  • Demonstrate integrity, accountability, and teamwork in daily interactions.
  • Participate in continuous improvement efforts to improve safety, quality, and efficiency.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Previous manufacturing or food production experience preferred but not required.
  • Ability to read and follow work instructions and production documents.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Basic math skills for measuring and recording production information.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Frequently lift, push, and pull up to 55 pounds.
  • Ability to bend, twist, reach, and perform repetitive motions.
  • Comfortable working in varying production temperatures and around food manufacturing equipment.
