Responsibilities
- Participate in an on-call rotation and respond promptly to water, fire, and storm emergencies.
- Evaluate the extent of damage and determine the appropriate scope of mitigation.
- Perform mitigation tasks to stabilize the property and prevent secondary damage.
- Extract standing water and set drying equipment to dry affected structures and materials.
- Clean soot, smoke, and fire-related residue from affected surfaces and contents.
- Inventory, pack out, protect, and store customer contents with care.
- Perform mold remediation in accordance with industry standards and safety protocols.
- Complete accurate job documentation, including moisture readings and before-and-after photos.
- Maintain, clean, and stage drying and mitigation equipment for the next job.
- Follow all safety procedures and use required personal protective equipment.
- Communicate clearly with customers, adjusters, and internal teams throughout the job.
- Deliver a professional, empathetic experience to customers during a stressful time.
- Ensure work meets Highmark's quality standards before completion.
- Maintain and manage assigned company vehicle and equipment.
Requirements
- Previous experience in water and fire damage mitigation and restoration is beneficial.
- Certification in water and fire damage restoration (e.g., IICRC certification) is an advantage.
- Knowledge of restoration equipment and tools.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Physical fitness and the ability to work in physically demanding conditions.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.

- Valid driver’s license and good driving record and ability to pass an MVR screening.
- Valid DOT Medical Card or the ability to obtain DOT Medical Card.
- Must pass a background check.
